This summer, ARAMARK launched a community summer of service initiative focused around family health and wellness. ARAMARK, an international corporation that provides professional services, food services, facilities management, and uniform and career apparel to health care institutions, universities and school districts, stadiums and arenas, and businesses around the world, has embraced community service and volunteerism as a mean of encouraging healthy lifestyles and build healthy communities.

ARAMARK’s community service program, Building Community, encourages its employees to volunteer their time and talent in communities across the country. Building Community is not a one time fix, it is attempting to create an ongoing commitment to service and volunteerism through its support of local community centers.

Through ARAMARK Building Community, volunteers will use their expertise to help youth and adults develop critical, employable work skills and connect them to career opportunities; support families with nutrition and wellness education; provide basic needs such as food and clothing; and help identified partners run cleaner, safer and more efficient facilities to enhance and strengthen the Center’s programs on an ongoing basis.

Part of ARAMARK’s mission is a commitment to health and wellness through education, programs and health fairs. ARAMARK is has been holding events for communities across the country all summer including healthy cooking demonstrations in Philadelphia and an upcoming Building Community Health and Wellness Fair in Houston, Texas.
